Cannot boot MicroScope CD
02.11.09 at 09:38:34

Help, I have an Intel desktop motherbaord with a SATA hard drive and SATA DVD. I have installed Windows XPPro on to the system and it works fine, however when I try and boot the Micro-scope CD nothing happens (blank screen) when I put the XPPro CD back in, the system ignors it and boots into Windows.

Can anybody help?

To boot from a Bootable CD you need to change the boot order in the Bios to boot from the CD/DVD 1st

to get into the bios settings most motherboards when the PC starts up will be delete key or F1 or F2.

You may also have an option of F12 to give you a menu as to which device to boot from.

I am using an updated BIOS Intel DG43NB motherboard that gives you the option to boot from a selcted device at start up F10, the Microscope CD gives a blank screen and it ignors the XPPro CD and goes straight to startup. If I disconnect the hard drive it boots from the CD, connect it and it doesn't.

I presume when the hard drive is connected that Bios still sees the CDrom drive connected?
if so is the CD rom drive set to boot as 1st device in Bios?
