BIOS Corruption
05.02.10 at 17:10:23

Hello, I use AVG Free v9.0 anti virus and have an ABIT AL8-V motherboard with Pentium 4. I have just discovered that the Guru temperature settings were set to 255deg C. Also there have previously been problems when booting up as the Disk priority settings had been changed. 4Gbs RAM suggested by "Corsair" for this motherboard has been installed for over a year resulting in overclocking
Has anyone experienced BIOS changes like this please?  Smiley

I would guess that you have had this board for a while now. So I would suggest that you check the Cmos battery it may be running at 3v or less. This could be a reason for the Bios to have changed. Alternatively a power surge may have caused this.

Thanks Howard. That sounds like an excellent solution. I will certainly try that. The battery has had at least three years use. Many thanks, will let you know. Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley
