Viruses have messed up my computer
07.02.10 at 00:44:47

I just downloaded several viruses the other day... My roommate downloaded NOD32 and it got ride of them... However....

I can't get back on the internet.  I have Mozilla and Explorer and neither browser will work.  My connection to the internet is still working.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Mozilla and it still does not work.

Is there software that can restore my computer to working condition?

Some one please help!!!

Thanks,

David

That was a silly thing to do!! Seriously though, NOD32 is one of the best virus killers on the market, however it sounds as though the viruses have disabled access to certain update servers such as the servers NOD32 would use to update, these modern viruses are getting really nasty.......

Here is what I suggest you try: Download & run combofix from here http://www.combofix.org/ MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, or you will break your OS  Huh

When combo fix has finished download & run Malwarebytes Antimalware free edition from here: http://www.combofix.org/malwarebytes.php

This whole process may take some time, but between them they should clean your system up nicely, polish off with a NOD32 scan as well just to make sure & make certain you delete those old system restore points or you'll be back to square one!

Hi, In addition to MyIdealPC's suggestions you could also run SuperAnyiSpyware (free download, just google for it).

S.A.S. and Malwarebytes are two great free programs that work well together plus S.A.S. has a Repair Tab that allows you to repair those parts of your O.S. that have been damaged by MALWARE/VIRUS activity, just click Preferences to find the tab.

Hope this helps.
